The Shirley Basin Project is a significant uranium development located in Carbon County, Wyoming, USA, and is owned by UR-Energy through its subsidiary, Pathfinder Mines Corporation. Situated within one of the most historically important uranium districts in North America, the project hosts approximately 9.1 million pounds of measured and indicated uranium resources and represents the revitalization of a district that played a pioneering role in the development of in-situ recovery (ISR) uranium mining. Originally mined from the 1960s through the early 1990s, Shirley Basin is once again positioned to contribute to domestic uranium production as demand for clean, reliable energy continues to grow.

The project is being developed as a modern ISR operation integrated with UR-Energy’s nearby Lost Creek processing facility, allowing for efficient production and reduced capital requirements. With licensed production capacity of up to two million pounds of U₃O₈ annually and an anticipated mine life of approximately nine years, Shirley Basin is expected to play an important role in strengthening the United States’ domestic nuclear fuel supply chain. The project combines a proven resource base, established infrastructure, and advanced recovery technology to support the growing demand for uranium needed to power low-carbon electricity generation.
