GoldFields – Windfall Mining

The Windfall Project is a high-grade underground gold development located in Québec’s Abitibi Greenstone Belt, one of the world’s most prolific and mining-friendly gold districts. Following Gold Fields’ acquisition of Osisko Mining in 2024, the company secured 100% ownership of the project and its extensive surrounding exploration land package, positioning Windfall as a cornerstone asset within its global portfolio. The project is recognized as one of Canada’s largest undeveloped gold deposits and is expected to become a major source of long-term gold production.

Designed as a modern, low-cost underground mining operation, Windfall is projected to produce approximately 300,000 ounces of gold annually while benefiting from access to renewable hydroelectric power and significant exploration upside across the district. Ongoing permitting, engineering, and development activities continue to advance the project toward production, with a strong focus on responsible mining practices, environmental stewardship, and collaboration with local Indigenous communities. Once in operation, Windfall is expected to play a significant role in Canada’s gold sector and contribute to the growing global demand for precious metals.
