South32 – Hermosa Taylor Range

The Hermosa Taylor Project is a world-class zinc-lead-silver development located in southern Arizona’s Patagonia Mountains and represents the first phase of South32’s larger Hermosa Project. Anchored by the high-grade Taylor Deposit, the project is being developed as a modern underground mining operation with the potential to become one of the world’s largest and lowest-cost zinc producers. With substantial mineral resources and a projected mine life exceeding two decades, Taylor is positioned to be a significant supplier of critical base and precious metals essential to global infrastructure and the transition to a lower-carbon economy.

Designed as South32’s first “next-generation mine,” the project incorporates advanced automation, innovative mining technologies, and a strong focus on environmental performance. The operation is expected to produce zinc, lead, and silver concentrates through a large-scale underground mining and processing complex, while providing the foundation for future development opportunities across the broader Hermosa district. As a strategically important critical minerals project in the United States, Taylor is expected to strengthen domestic supply chains, support regional economic growth, and contribute to the growing demand for metals that enable clean energy technologies.
